Stages Theatre - Souvenir. Comedy offers an affectionate portrait of Jenkins, a music-loving socialite whose charity concerts earned her a cult following in New York in the 1930s and '40s, culminating in a sold-out concert at Carnegie Hall. Genuinely devoted to "her art," Jenkins was apparently oblivious to the appalling sounds she produced, and the fact that her "fans" attended for laughs, not musical excellence.
