Houston News: Teenager Gunned Down in SW Houston

A joyride for a group of young friends took a terrible turn when someone in another vehicle opened fire on them, killing a 14-year-old boy. It happened in southwest Houston on W. Bellfort near Sandpiper, reports Houston News. Police say the teen died after going to Southwest Memorial Hermann Hospital. Police don't know who shot him or why.

Investigators got the call to the Bellfort Village apartments after two groups of teens were traveling together in separate cars. Someone, possibly a third car, fired at them, striking and killing one teen.
They pulled in to an apartment complex, where eyewitnesses describe what they saw.
"They pulled a 14-year-old out and put him in the blue car and they went to the hospital," said eyewitness Dana Williams.

"He was not breathing. They were panicking. They were really nervous," said eyewitness Eddie Hudson.
Investigators say at least one of the teens may have had a gun. All of those teens are being questioned by police. They do not yet have a description of a suspect or vehicle from where the gunshots came.

Authorities say this possibly could have resulted from a fight early on at another location. They are also looking to see if the shooting is gang-related.
